Our Philosophy

At LittleSteps, we are committed to providing the highest quality of care for all children, to support them develop to their fullest potential. We understand that children are natural learners that need to be provided opportunities to experiment, practice skills , and seek new knowledge in their own ways, and our role is to facilitate and guide them in the learning process.

We use an inquiry-based approach, through open-ended, child-centered, hands-on activities to provide stimulating experiences. Through these experiences, they can make predictions, develop hypotheses, and test and question their assumptions and expectations. In the process, we dare our students to be wrong, to try multiple ideas, listen to alternate opinions and create a knowledge base that is applicable to real life as opposed to simply an exam.

Simply speaking, we promote young children’s natural abilities as scientists and artists and engineers, by encouraging them to observe, document their observations through drawings, paintings, or recordings to describe what they are noticing; constructing towers with blocks or other objects; talking about the changes in nature etc. We promote an environment that encourages students to take thoughtful steps, engage in experimental learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, work through the creative process and supports their holistic growth and development.
